MICHAEL MELCHIONE---GUITAR AND VOCALS (aka Melvin)

Moved from California to Virginia after meeting and Jamming with Roy Buchanan in 1973 Learned about the Telecaster Guitar from Jay Lacy and Jessie Ed Davis(Taj Mahal’s guitar player at the time) in California and later from Roy Buchanan and the great Danny Gatton in the tri state of DC, Maryland and Virginia. Performed locally, eventually touring with the legendary Big Al Downing and the Heavy Country Band. Years Later formed the Smut Brothers Band, when he met Stanley Dural Jr, a.k.a. Buckwheat Zydeco and ended up recording and touring nationally and internationally for 13 years with Buckwheat. Came off the road and joined longtime friend Billy Branch in the Lost Highway Band.

BILLY BRANCH---BASS GUITAR AND VOCALS

Born in Devil’s Fork, West Virginia....way back up in the woods. Has played bass for many years (and starting to get the hang of it finally) with many local and national acts along the way including: Billy Hancock’s Tennessee Rockets, Benny Dean Band, All Night Long, Heavy Country, Danny Gatton and many more including founding the Lost Highway Band. Current hobbies are Harley-Davidson motorcycles and fast cars, hanging out with the family and taking the kids to every possible skate park or dance studio known to mankind.

 

JIM TUCKER---KEYBOARDS AND VOCALS (aka Little Jimmy)

Originally from NYC….way back up in the woods. Studied piano and composition with Russell Woollen, a protégé of Nadia Boulanger and Walter Piston after a stint in the USAF. Worked as a keyboardist/musical director for a number of local and national acts including: the Temptations, the Coasters, Wolfman Jack, the Marvellettes, the Drifters, Bobby Lewis, the Platters, Al Wilson, and many others. Working on a variety of musical projects currently including solo work on his Ballet Mecanique project (www.balletmecanique.net), the music and lyrics for an up-coming Broadway show, and several film projects (www.almostinvisible.com) which leaves plenty of time to train for the next Olympics in the cross-carpet skiing event.

PAUL GOLDSTEIN----DRUMS AND VOCALS (AKA “DW”)

The sole Maryland dwelling member of LHB, has worked in the studio with the Northstar Band and shared the stage with a broad variety of local and national acts including Jerry Lee Lewis, Danny Gatton, The Drifters, and many others. Extensive background in a broad variety of musical styles, genres, and a shiny new kit with lots of cymbals (oh joy!). Currently doing session playing as well as writing original lyrics and music for a number of different projects including the up-coming Lost Highway Band CD.
