Welcome to The Lost Highway Band
You still might hear some of the older locals call US Rt. 1 in Virginia the “Lost Highway” in reference to its long and legendary history of moonshiners, smoke-filled juke joints, and good-time roadhouses. In honor of that rich tradition and the amazing road warrior musicians of that bygone era, the Lost Highway Band keeps the tradition and spirit of the “Lost Highway” and its music alive and vital, whether it be chicken-pickin’ country, smoldering R&B, funkified roots-rock, or “gut-bucket” blues from the delta. With an impressive mix of choice covers and well-crafted originals, a Lost Highway Band show is always a happening event, built around fun and a truly amazing band. Although “roots” music has a trendy ring to it, it is the lifeblood of what makes the Lost Highway Band real, it runs through the members veins like the highway artery of US Rt.1 has kept the pulse of America’s one true art- its musical traditions of blues, country, R&B, and rock.
The Lost Highway Band is a truly American band and the direct musical descendants of the legendary bands and musicians that once roamed the “Lost Highway”. Perennial D.C. area favorites for outdoor festivals or opening for national acts,(Clifton Day, Rolling Thunder, 4th of July w/ Eddie Money) the LHB can still be spotted occasionally on Rt. 1 and outlying areas of Virginia, Maryland, DC, and West Virginia. Although the band members are technically highly skilled professionals the number one reason they play music is for fun and with a line-up like they have it can’t help but be an absolute blast!
